Abstract

Community-based tourism development has emerged as a strategic approach to strengthen sustainable rural tourism by integrating local culture, environmental resources, and community participation. This program aimed to optimize the tourism potential of Petak Village, Gianyar, Bali, through digital transformation and community empowerment. Implemented using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, it involved collaboration between the KKN team, village authorities, and local tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis). Key activities included revitalizing social media platforms, producing promotional videos, developing tourism maps, installing signage, and providing donation boxes to support sustainable destination management. The results show that digital transformation significantly enhanced Petak Village’s visibility and branding. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok expanded tourism promotion and public engagement. Additionally, tourism information facilities improved visitor accessibility and comfort. The program strengthened community participation in tourism management while preserving local cultural values guided by Tri Hita Karana philosophy. Overall, integrating digital technology with local wisdom proved effective in promoting sustainable tourism development in rural destinations.
